The Future Close

In the spring of 2024, I taught a semester-long class for teenagers at Las Fotos Project focusing on archival practices in photography. During our final session, we filled a time capsule with photographs and ephemera from our time together. Only the members of our class know the contents of the capsule, which we buried in the 7th Ave. Garden in Mid-City, Los Angeles. 25 years after the burial, we will reconvene to dig up the capsule—and the memories, artworks, and dreams we created with one another.
